First Steps

Max has been working hard on walking! He averages about 4 steps before he falls down, but is more frequently taking 6 or 7 before falling. We finally got him on video taking some of his first steps. Usually when he sees the camera he immediately sits down and crawls to get the camera, but Jason was able to sneak this one in while he was practicing walking to Kyle. He is very motivated, but often gets a little too excited so ends up losing his balance! He's definitely getting close and practices all the time!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today we celebrated Jason's 32nd birthday! Kyle gave him his homemade card first thing in the morning. Then we went to church. When we got home we gave him his presents. He got a T-shirt with a picture of Kyle and Max that says "Daddy's Boys" and a cozy Eagles pillow which he enjoyed a nap on during Max's naptime. Kyle and I used that opportunity to make his birthday cake. I realized as I was making it that it was actually the first cake I've ever made - crazy!! Kyle chose all the ingredients and decorations - funfetti cake, chocolate frosting, purple gel for writing, colorful squiggly candles, and sprinkles! We had some cake when Daddy and Max woke up. Then we went out to dinner at Red Robin. Jason got a free birthday burger. The food was yummy and both boys were very well behaved. Kyle told us at the table "Daddy, I'm having fun at your birthday party." All in all it was a fun day!

Soccer

Kyle had his very first soccer practice today. He's been super excited and couldn't wait to go! All day he kept asking me "Is it 3:15 yet?" Finally it was and we headed over to Germantown Soccerplex. Since it was raining today they had their first practice indoors in the Discovery Center. Normally it will take place outside in one of the soccer fields. Regardless, he had a BLAST!!! He told me he had 152,000 million fun! He was a great listener and followed all the directions the coach gave and was a very enthusiastic participant! He learned some basic skills like kicking, dribbling the ball, shooting the ball in the goal, and stopping the ball. Max really wanted to join in the fun, but I tried to keep him busy on the sidelines as we watched.

Beautiful weather

We had an absolutely gorgeous Friday, Saturday and Sunday - highs in or near the 70's and sunny! We went to Ridge Road Park on Friday afternoon to enjoy the beautiful day. On Saturday we went out for ice cream and played at Adventure Playground - it was packed!!!!! The boys had a great time playing outside and Max is keeps me on my toes - he's way more adventurous at this age than Kyle ever was!

Happy Easter!

Ma, Pa, and Uncle Mike came over on Saturday to celebrate Easter with us. They brought lots of fun goodies and we had a yummy Easter dinner. The boys enjoyed playing some Wii. Kyle also dyed and decorated some Easter eggs. It was a fun day! Sunday morning we saw the amazing Easter presentation at our church. We had a relaxing afternoon with fun family time. The boys got their Easter baskets and enjoyed playing with their new toys, especially the bubbles! Then we went for a walk - it was a little chilly, but overall a beautiful day!

Body Parts

One of the questions they asked at Max's 15 month doctor's appointment was "Can he identify one or two body parts?" At the time, the answer was no. Since then he has been working hard and can now reliably identify 6 body parts when asked. Here's a video of him "showing off" his new knowledge!
