Happy Birthday Jason!

Today is Jason's 33rd birthday! Yesterday we celebrated by going to a Nationals baseball game, just the two of us. Ma and Pa watched the boys so we could have a nice day out. It was perfect weather and the Nationals won! We had a wonderful time! Today the boys were super excited for Daddy's birthday. Kyle helped me wrap some gifts we got for him which we gave him when he got home from work. Then we went out to dinner at The Greene Turtle and came home for ice cream cake for dessert.

Spring is here

We've had some nice days this month and have been enjoying many post-nap afternoons outside. The boys love playing at the playground even if it's just the one in front of our house. Kyle has figured out how to slide down the pole all by himself and he can now pump his legs on the swing to keep himself going. He's very proud of his new accomplishments. Max has figured out how to swing on his belly and has lots of fun doing it! Both boys love being outside, playing at the playground, kicking/hitting balls around, and taking walks. I'm so glad we've had some nice weather to enjoy being outside again and look forward to the rest of the spring/summer days!

First T-ball game

Kyle had his first t-ball game of the season today. He's really enjoying playing and it's fun to watch him. We all went to his first game and cheered him on. Even Max got into it saying "Yay Kyle" to every player that got up to bat. It is a little hard to tell them apart with their baseball caps on and the same uniforms. Kyle's team is called the Nationals and he chose to be number 5 (because he's 5 years old). His eye doctor said it was okay that he didn't wear his glasses for the couple of hours a week he plays in order to prevent any accidents with them. All the boys are still learning the idea of being a "team" so there are races and diving involved to try to get to the ball. They all want to be the one to catch it! They play 3 innings and every child gets to bat and run the bases, as well as try out different field positions. So far Kyle's favorite position is pitcher which seems to get the most action.

Happy Easter!

This morning we went to our church's Easter service which was amazing as always. The boys did great in their classes for this extra long service and we stopped for McDonald's on the way home. After church we gave the boys their Easter baskets. The baskets had some small toys and and candy in them, as well as some plastic eggs with clues inside. This was a tradition my parents did with my brother and I when we were younger and I decided to start it this year with my boys. They followed the clues around the house that would lead to other eggs and eventually a present. They had fun running all over the house searching for clues and finding toys. We mostly got outdoor toys this year - bubbles, balls, bat/ball sets, water guns, and sidewalk chalk. After Max's nap the boys had fun playing outside with their new stuff!

Kyle T-ball

We signed Kyle up for his first season of t-ball. He's had a few practices so far and seems to be enjoying it! Ma and Pa came up today and Pa and I took Kyle to his t-ball practice and got some of the first pictures of the season. Ma and Pa came bearing Easter gifts and then watched the boys for us in the afternoon/early evening so we could go to a movie and dinner. It was a great day!
